Trump’s ‘Us Vs Them’ mentality which rallied enough support to get him elected continues to be his strategy to divide America and vilify his detractors.
President Elect Trump, the most unlikable character in American pop culture since Jar Jar Binks, used his first press conference as an opportunity to attack the media, calling “Buzzfeed a failing pile of garbage” and got visibly angry when one reporter tried to ask him a question. Nine days away from his inauguration as president of the United States and he can’t even keep his cool at a press conference that he organised himself.
Trump addressed the public in a series of embarrassing sound bites in which he referred to himself in the third person on several occasions; an effort to build a cult of the leader persona which he is determined will be a tool to reshape America. The Trumptatorship is here to save jobs.
Job creation is one of the building blocks for all dictatorships, the promise of jobs for the working class, to put food on the table, to build strong indigenous industries which will outperform the international community, a new wave of jingoism which blindsides international relations and global prosperity.
Trump claimed he will be “the greatest job producer that god ever created”, god known for making the seven days of the week and American industry, in Trump we trust, the greatest job producer, the greatest dictator.
Honestly I’m not sure what hurts me more, Trump’s dumbed down version of politics or his dumbed down version of economics, but he managed to cover both in his press conference with a single handed assault.
“If Putin likes Donald Trump that’s called an asset not a liability
Do you honestly believe Hillary Clinton would be tougher on Putin, give me a break”
How Trump continues to speak like a fourteen year old when addressing one of the most dangerous men in human history baffles me to the point where I can’t even explain my own thoughts, whether the plan is to divide up the Ukraine like the Nazis did with Poland, undermine Europe’s role in geopolitics, or simply to profit by forming an ammunition pact to feed weapons into the genocide games in the Middle East I just don’t know.
But somehow Trump continues to deflect attention from Russian hackers by focusing attention on China and the grand hustle border wall which formed part of his manifesto.
“We don’t even have a border, it’s an open sieve” “We are going to build a wall” “Mexico in some form will reimburse us, it will happen”
Again I don’t know what’s more terrifying here anymore, the audacity of announcing America are going to build the walls of Panem or the thought of what will become of Iron Curtain America under state control.
And what happens if you challenge Trump, what happens if you ask him to comment on his commitments to transparency, well he simply boxes you off, ghosts your questions, wheels out filling cabinets, refuses to give you a voice, denies the freedom of speech, the freedom of press;
“The only ones who care about my tax returns are the reporters”
No Donald, they are not the only ones, every educated mind in America cares about your tax returns, every free person in the western world cares about your dealings with Russia, every sane person on the planet worries that people actually voted for you.
America you could have elected a t-rex and no one would have give a damn, don’t allow your press to be silenced, Meryl Streep is not an over rated actress, you know this.
Pray for Meryl Streep
Pray for America.
